Hi all,
More than a year ago, I contributed a patch and unfortunately there is
still no new release of Sox in which it it incorporated. It is luckily
in a git branch.
Major distributions, such as Ubuntu, are still on 14.4.1 for the last
six releases (last three years), see
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sox
and see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sox/+bug/1640847
In order to help Sox to a next release, are there some people that want
to help setup a PPA with builds for Ubuntu and Debian (and Raspbian)? So
some functionality will become available soon, testing is more easy and,
hopefully, a new version of Sox can be released in 2016.
That would be nice just before the holiday season. Who has experience
with setting up PPA's?
Best,
Pander
